Altron’s Bytes Universal Systems scores prestigious CMMI rating
AA – Bytes Universal Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Altron, has announced that it is the first South African company to achieve Maturity Level 3 in the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) for Services appraisal program.
CMMI® Maturity Level 3 is an international recognition offered by the CMMI Institute in the USA. It is only awarded to organisations that have proven their excellence in ensuring high quality, better standards, enhanced capability and continuous improvements in the delivery of IT solutions and services.
“We are proud to be the first South African company to be assessed at CMMI® Maturity Level 3 for Services. The appraisal result is testament to our commitment towards maintaining high standards and quality for the solutions and services we deliver,” said Anton Van Heerden, General Manager at Bytes Universal Systems. “We remain committed to our continued investment in maturing our processes, thereby improving the return on investment to our customers, partners and stakeholders. The CMMI® model assists us to significantly enhance the maturity of our development and service delivery practices.”
The appraisal was carried out by the Joburg Centre for Software Engineering (JCSE), a CMMI® Institute partner in South Africa. Professor Barry Dwolatzky, CEO, JCSE says: “Being successfully appraised at CMMI® Maturity level 3 is a major milestone for any company. Bytes Universal Systems is a pioneer in its sector and we are confident that the success achieved will manifest itself in many other organizations also looking to improve best practice based capability and maturity excellence.”
Alok Goswami, CMMI® Lead Appraiser and Executive Head: Performance Improvement at the JCSE said: “I am confident that the wider South African ICT community will also start taking advantage of this best practice framework to achieve proven excellence in the software and service delivery domains”.
This achievement by Bytes Universal Systems is its most recent milestone in enhancing its maturity journey towards customer-focused service delivery. Having already been a pioneer in implementing internationally recognized best practice frameworks, Bytes Universal Systems holds a Maturity Level 3 CMMI® certification for its development practices, placing it in a select group of companies across the globe to achieve best practice certification in both development and service delivery practices.
